The long awaited new 6x6 specially designed to tackle fires in difficult rural locations has finally arrived in Midhurst Fire Station.

The newest West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service all terrain vehicle has been designed to be used off road, has a specialist high pressure system to deal with different types of fires and comes with equipment to tackle road traffic accidents.

It is expected to be in use from next Friday (July 15).

The 6x6 made its debut at West Sussex County Council’s north county local committee in Lurgashall when representatives from all northern parishes got the chance to take a closer look.
