THE Half Moon pub in Midhurst is getting set for a fresh start in 2015.
The pub, situated at one of the entrances to the town along the Petersfield Road, shut for around five weeks over the Christmas period.
Regulars will now see a new team behind the jump, who are setting their sights on injecting a new lease of life into the traditional country pub.
Paul Chambers is the new manager at the Half Moon, which closed on December 9 and reopened on January 7.
He has updated the menu and made changes to the deals and events on offer.
The team will be doing an offer on meals throughout the week, including 2-4-1 specials on Monday and Tuesday nights, 2-4-1 steak on Wednesdays and homemade pie and a pint on a Thursday.
Paul, who has family connections with Jeffersons butchers in West Street, said locals are enthusiastically returning to the pub.
And the cold weather is bringing in plenty of hungry punters.
“The first thing people ask is if the heating is on,” said Paul.
Food service has now resumed with new chefs Mark and Brian at the helm.
David Marshall took over the pub in September 2011.
One of the first ventures for the Mr Marshall was to set up a pub choir, with members from around the community.
