THE Midhurst Youth Wing is looking to recruit a new youth leader to work with the town’s teenagers.
A position is available for a part-time youth leader for six hours a week, to work one evening in the club and one night as an outreach worker alongside the Snack Wagon, during termtime only.
Working with an experienced team in the new purpose-built centre, the applicant should have a good sense of humour, patience, tolerance, understanding and an ability to cope with anything that comes their way.
The centre is run by a youth trust with strong connections to Midhurst Rother College.
This is an exciting time to join the Midhurst Youth Wing as it broadens its sphere of activities based in its new building.
The club recently moved into new facilities made possible by the sale of the old youth club land and part of the land vacated by the Midhurst Rother College. It also runs the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme for the area, involving 75 young people aged 14-19.
Sailing, camping trips and evening visits to other leisure outlets offer a comprehensive choice of activities to young people.
The youth wing is open three nights a week and will expand the number of nights in September to four.
Pay is in accordance with JNC youth worker salary scale between points six-nine according to experience, and training is available alongside residential activity.
Apply to Colin Hughes (chairman of trustees) at Midhurst Youth Wing, Whiphill Stables, Lamberts Lane, Midhurst, West Sussex GU29 9EA.
