Newcomers Norway charge to victory at Arundel Castle

Visitors to Arundel Castle witnessed a dramatic finale to the International Jousting and Medieval Tournament on Sunday.

The shock result saw reigning champions the Kingdom of England failing to make the final, where newcomers the Kingdom of Norway defeating the Kingdom of Poland to secure victory on their debut.

The longest contest of its kind in the world, the event attracted jousting talent from as far afield as Australia and welcomed the first female competitor, Marie Baron, to Arundel Castle.

Knights Per Estein Prøis-Røhjell and Ivar Mauritz-Hansen were presented with the winners’ rings by Arundel deputy mayor Angela Standing.
