North bersted summer playscheme praised by residents' champion

A summer playscheme in North Bersted has been praised by a residents' champion.

Gez Watson, chairman of the Trees Estate Residents' Association, said the two play rangers had been a total success.

The rangers have been supplying fun courtesy of Arun District Council on weekday afternoons for the past month on the Berghestede Green behind Tamarisk Close and Oak Close.

Gez said: "I was sceptical about the idea at first but I now want to be ahead of the queue of adults and children who want to praise the scheme.

"To Arun's immense credit, the scheme is fantastic and a great success here. There is something for all ages to do and to get involved in. It is utterly brilliant and a project that needs commending at the highest level. The play rangers, Jason and Alison, have been wonderful.

"Every one of the afternoons they have been here there have been dozens of children on the green and quite a few parents too, some joining in and some just watching the fun."
