Just A Minute

MOST of you will know St Barnabas' Church in Sea Road.

It's the largest building in that part of Bexhill and was badly damaged by fire in November 2005.

The main part of the church has not been used for worship since then, but the congregation still meets in the south part of the building for a service at 10am on Sundays and also during the week. The future of the buildings is at present undecided, despite any rumours that you have heard.

Church buildings are very important to people; even to those who don't attend them regularly, but the church is really the people, and I can assure you that those who make up the church family at St Barnabas' are very much alive and their future is assured. On Saturday, September 13 many churches in Sussex will be open for 'Ride and Stride' when many will be cycling or walking to raise money for the historic churches that mean so much to us.

St Barnabas' will be open that day so why not pop in? You'll receive a warm welcome. The church is open for business!
