Just A Minute - August 15

Well, I don't know about you, but I suspect that for many people the working day begins earlier, and ends later because of technology.

The ease of communication carries with it an assumption that those who are 'connected' should always be available.

All of this has evolved centuries after Biblical wisdom was put down in written form.

Within that wisdom is a sense of rhythm to the week and to the year, so that there would be time for sowing and harvesting, working and resting.

This ancient wisdom was connected to the seasons and to the land, but it has important things to say to us about the balance of our lives.

As part of this, perhaps, it needs to be remembered that technology is to work for us, and not the other way round!
