Sussex PCC's video log: Sussex is #NoPlaceForHate
Watch the video and make a stand against hate crime by downloading the Self Evident crime reporting app.
The app is an existing piece of technology. However, financial investment from the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) has enabled more custom-built software to be added to help victims of hate crime access help and advice.
Research shows that many minority groups have not always had the same trust in the police. However, the 2016 Stonewall Workplace Equality report has seen Sussex Police jump 80 places to 22nd in the list of gay friendly employers in the UK. The report assesses organisational equality practices, how organisations engage with their LGBT staff and customers and looks for good practice, as well as considering community engagement.
Hate Crime is a key priority in the PCC’s Police & Crime Plan and is one of five priority issues for her Youth Commission.
