Farewell to a local
IT'S SAD to see another Chichester pub close, The Bush Inn at the Hornet.
I believe it is to be converted into a café bar.
But it is even more sad to see that the old acid etched window advertising Lambert and Norris Arundel Ales has been removed (broken?).
Lambert and Norris of the Eagle Brewery, Arundel, went out of business in the 1930s. As far as I know it’s the only window advertising that company anywhere.
The window has survived decades of bar-room brawls and vandalism and is now gone.
A little piece of local social history lost!
