I would like to thank the Labour supporters in Southwater who voted for me in last week's district council by-election.

Although this was not the outcome we hoped for, it was clear speaking to many people on the doorstep that by returning another Tory to Horsham District Council, many of the issues that people are concerned about, will remain unaddressed.

For this reason we believe that it is incredibly important that there are people prepared to stand up to oppose the district council and address the real issues facing Horsham.

These issues include :

The lack of affordable housing for local people.

The Tories’ plan to concrete over our countryside with executive homes that no one locally can afford.

Supporting Horsham FC’s ground planning application.

Highlighting the lack of public services and good facilities for all local people.

These issues will always be important to us.

The Labour Party will continue to listen and understand the concerns of local people and we pledge to take every opportunity to highlight the chaotic and self-serving nature of the Tory district council.

Labour candidate, Southwater by-election, Mill Bay Lane Horsham
