LETTER: Delighted that café is to stay

What a delight to learn in your pages that Nathan's café, on Bognor Regis railway station, is to remain after the renovations.

This cheerful and valuable facility is one of the best refreshment outlets at any station along the South Coast and provides a warm welcome or farewell to those arriving or leaving by train.

Long gone are the carts that previously provided light refreshments on the slow journey from Bognor Regis to London, but Nathan’s ensures that passengers may enjoy a high-quality and freshly prepared sit-down or takeaway snack.

I was recently enjoying my breakfast in Nathan’s and overheard a lady with her family calling those meeting her in London.

She was telling them she would be on a later train as she had discovered a lovely café that she wanted to enjoy before starting her journey.

The staff at this delightful, community-orientated café provide additional information for those who pass through, especially when the ticket office is closed and the train service is as abysmal as it has been of late.

Long may the residents of Bognor Regis and our visitors continue to enjoy Nathan’s.

The cherry flapjack should not be missed.
