LETTER: Information on EU is good

This debate has given rise to intelligent and spirited debate in many situations and more information can only add to this, sadly most of what is being fed to the nation is not fact but supposition, although the today programme on Radio 4 does seem to have got the balance right.

John Harmer in the same issue states that if Great Britain leaves the EU Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales will join it leaving England standing alone, where is the evidence that this will be the case or is he fortunate enough to have a very large crystal ball.

There is a lot of scaremongering at the moment concerning migration and security and how if we leave we will not have a workforce to maintain our essential services and how national security will become an issue, as yet no one has said that if Britain leaves immigrants will no longer be welcome, Britain has taken immigrants since 1840 and even more so since 1945 the immigrant population are a much valued and integrated part of British life.

The fundamental difference will be that Britain will take back control of its borders and exercise the right right to deport undesirables without the European Convention on Human Rights continuing to thwart the process, just remember how long it took to deport Abu Hamza and at what cost financially.

We have many good politicians in Britain who want the best for this

country and its people but where are they and why is our own MP Andrew Tyrie not taking advantage of the Chichester Observers excellent reporting facilities to educate its readers to the pros and cons of both sides, he must not sit on the fence any longer the day of reckoning is fast approaching and the voting public have very long memories when they feel let down by their politicians.
