Candidates' thanks
I, together, with other local Liberal Democrats, will continue to be engaged in local issues and to campaign for a council which is more open and which responds to the aspirations of the population it serves.

WE would like to thank the voters of Collington Ward for voting with their feet for us in record numbers at the recent local elections. They achieved the highest turnout in the whole of Rother District at 57.75 per cent.

Hide AdWe will do our best to represent the Ward independently for the next four years, voting when necessary for the benefit of the Ward free of any party political pressure.
It is our intention to maintain consultative contact with Collington residents during our tenure and we will develop arrangements for this later in the year.

MAY I take the opportunity through your pages to thank every one of the 480 people who voted for me in St Michaels ward. The final results were a win for the Apathy Party again with 57 per cent of the vote. My congratulations go to the two councillors elected this time, with the support of 18 per cent and 10 per cent of the electorate respectively.
At the same time as these elections were held, voters had the chance of voting for a (slightly) fairer method of voting, AV.

I WOULD personally like to thank the people of Sackville Ward for their continued support for me as their councillor. It has been a great pleasure to work hard for the beautiful ward that is Sackville. I am pleased to welcome Patrick Douart as my fellow Conservative councillor for the ward. We pledge to give our residents the care and attention to any problems they may have - whatever their political persuasion. Our sincere thanks.

I SHOULD like to thank on behalf of myself and Toby Cook all the residents of the Sackville ward who came out and voted for us. We thank you for your faith in us and hope we can do better next time .

MAY I thank the residents of Central Ward for re-electing me to Rother District Council on May 5. I will continue to represent all residents in Bexhill, whatever political persuasion as I have done these past four years. My thanks to everyone who helped me to achieve this result and also to my opponents who have been extremely courteous throughout the campaign. These next four years will doubtless bring with them difficulties but I will always be available at the end of the phone or at the Town Hall, and I look forward to meeting you.

Hide AdMAY I express my sincere thanks to everyone who put their trust in me by voting Independent.
I can assure them I will do my very best to work with others in the interest of the whole community. Bexhill is a very special place and regardless of party politics I hope all those elected will remember who gave them this opportunity to serve, it was the electorate not a political party. I truly hope we all use common sense to improve not just Bexhill but the whole of Rother.
I feel very honoured indeed to be given this opportunity but without the support of some very good friends it would not have been possible - Christine, Tom and Colin who walked miles knocking on doors helping to deliver my message. It seems so little but it is sincerely meant. Thank you.

I WOULD like to thank all my constituents who voted for me at the election on May 5 and also thank the people who helped with delivering leaflets etc, especially Mr Robert Chase, who I can assure you supported me throughout the campaign - I thank him.
