I was devastated to read that the cathedral café will not be reopening after the lockdown. See here

The cathedral is one of the main places that visitors to our city come to see.

Many visitors, especially older people, come by coach, the café is near their drop off point, and is completely accessible for the less able.

The food is reasonably priced, has everything from a sandwich to a full meal, and the service is quick.

When I have arranged to meet a friend in the past the café is easy for them to find. The Arts Society City of Chichester held its Christmas function in the Vicars Hall with good food provided by the café.

We have often enjoyed eating there. It will take a while as restrictions are eased for things to pick up, but the loss of that venue, with the shop next door will be very sad, surely a small profit is better than none at all.
