Double standards over the proposed Courtwick development?

WE ARE very concerned at the double standards which appear to apply to the proposed Courtwick development.

Whilst planning permission is progressing for a staggering 600 homes on prime agricultural land at Courtwick, Stan, who owns the neighbouring farm and has worked the land for the last 60 years, has recently had planning permission denied for one retirement bungalow on his own land for himself and his wife to live in!

This was rejected on the basis of too many houses in the area!

I also am very angry that although the plans by the developers, Gleesons, are publicly known, whenever we who oppose them put banners up (with the farmer’s permission on his land/gates) to make the public aware of where these proposed houses are to go, twice the banners have been removed in the night!

This is theft – and we are outraged that this is suppression of our rights to express an opinion in a country which is supposed to have freedom of speech.

Editor’s note: We should point out that, as CLOG members have told us, it is not known who has stolen the banners.
