I took offence at the comments from Mike Grant of Beach Road in last week’s Herald click here to read as he seems to have done a written report on the state of the various gardens/parks in the area.

He states this is not Covid-19 related! You are certain of that are you Mr Grant?

This worldwide pandemic has seen thousands lose their lives, of all ages across the world.

I feel blessed to still be able to walk amongst long grass, untrimmed hedges, overgrown borders, and what’s the matter with weeds anyway?

You state that the regular gardener in Princes Park has been unwell.

Does that not entitle him to be off work?

I’m sure given time the parks will be looking as good as they always do.

I find it petty that you can actually complain about wood chippings and small stones on the path not swept up whilst people are struggling to get back on their feet again with a killer virus still ‘out there’.

I know of people who volunteer themselves for tidying gardens and parks, so stop moaning and apply.

My daughter-in-law and two friends spent Sunday morning in Princes Park and collected four bin liners of rubbish from the lake, under bushes and poo bags thrown in trees.

I’ve walked my dogs in Princes Park for years and can only congratulate the gardener for his dedicated work and wish him a speedy recovery.

While you continue commenting about the rubbish in the parks could you walk a little further to Five Acres and do a project on KFC and McDonalds litter?

I agree, it is disgusting.
