LETTER: Supporters of flawed proposals

In last week’s paper you published the names of councillors who refused to support Horsham Football Club’s application to move to the Hop Oast site.

On April 30, 2014, the council voted to approve the Dawe, Vickers, Croft and Rae plan to extend Horsham north of the A264 with 2,500-plus houses, a business park, railway station etc. I don’t think your paper published the names of those councillors who supported this flawed plan. I hope your readers will agree that we should know with elections coming up.

Billingshurst (Breacher, Lindsay, Rowbottom);

Southwater (Chidlow, Howard, Vickers)

Cowfold (Chowen, Clarke)

Ashington (Circus)

Bramber (Coldwell, Goddard)

Roffey (Cornell, Croft)

Chantry (Dawe, Sanson, Van Der Klugt)

Pulborough (Donnelly, Paterson)

Nuthurst (England)

Horsham (Holmes, Deakins abstain)

Henfield (Mathews, O’Connell)

Holbrook (Rae, Baldwin abstain)

Ichingfield (Ritchie)

Steyning (Rogers)

It is worth noting where the bulk of these supporters for dumping this flawed housing and economic plan for North Horsham have their seats.

Did they vote for the best intentions of the residents of the whole of Horsham District? Or were they just obeying orders from the esteemed leader Dawe and preserving their southern patches and their payments as councillors? They should all be truly accountable on May 7.
