Meet-up for dogs adopted from Turkey to take place in Southwater

It is with great delight to announce the first ever UK meet up for dogs adopted from Kalkan, Turkey. All the dogs have received the most dedicated care and love from the tremendous devoted volunteers of the animal charity KAPSA, Kalkan Association for the Protection of Street Animals.

The proud owners along with their adopted dogs will meet up in Southwater on Saturday August 22 for a barbecue and a lovely local walk organised by Rob Warde.

This will provide the owners the opportunity to personally thank special guest Jan Walter who has fostered many of the dogs whilst they waited their four months before travelling to their forever homes.

Jan’s dedication closely supported by her husband Kevin has made it possible for the owners to know their dogs were safe, happy and loved before setting off on their journey to their forever home.

KAPSA charity believe eduction is the key to continuing their valuable work within Kalkan and its surrounding areas alongside the local community. KAPSA promote, facilitate and support a successful trap, neuter and return programme to significantly reduce an increase in population of unwanted and homeless street animals.

The programme has reduced numbers within Kalkan and pop up clinics are also held in surrounding villages to encourage locals to bring their own or street animals for neutering. KAPSA works closely with the local Kalkan community and local school to promote compassion towards animals and responsible ownership. Vast improvements have been achieved for the welfare of the animals in Kalkan and KAPSA endeavour to continue this for the future.

KAPSA treat unwell and injured animals at the veterinary clinic in Kalkan and with the support from volunteers, locals and tourists worldwide this has enabled the clinic to provide the best of care for so many animals. KAPSA depends entirely on voluntary donations, so your support is critical. Please help us make a difference to the lives of Kalkan’s street animals.
