The trustees, management and staff at Arundel Lido were sad to learn of the death of Ken Grimes of Rustington.

From the very start of the campaign to save Arundel swimming pool (back in the year 2000), Ken was an ardent and active supporter.

Ken was himself a keen swimmer and, once we re-opened – as Arundel Lido – in 2004, he became a regular visitor. Ken donated all sorts of things to the Lido, including a number of trees which have made the site more attractive and offered more shade for our customers.

We shall be installing a permanent memorial to Ken, the gentle man whom we shall all miss very much.our sincere condolences go to Ken’s family.
