Nothing like the present

I AGREE with John McNaughton's letter (Observer, July 8) in that we have heard too much from Jackie Bialeska, especially regarding the Next Wave project at the western end of the seafront.

Mr McNaughton explains there are probably five times more people promenading the Next Wave end than the eastern end beyond the De La Warr Pavilion.

Can I ask some of these walkers to slip down to Egerton Park - turn off by the Clock Tower - on Saturday, July 23, 11am to 3pm.

The Friends of Egerton Park Annual Green Day has been joined this year by Rother’s Open Weekend Countdown to 2012 Olympics and because so much will be happening we have changed the name to Party in the Park, as you will see from the posters around the town.

If you can visit Egerton Park, please come to the Friends’ Marquee where you will be made welcome. The Friends have many members but their committee consists of just four people.

There must be more than four people who live in Bexhill who see Egerton Park as an asset, or who perhaps would like a say in its progress.

If you are interested in the present and the future of Egerton Park, we would love to see you on 23 July.
