Oh, how the town has changed

WHAT has happened to Littlehampton? I used to be a resident back in the early 1970s and I was back in the town recently, and could not believe how run-down and depressing it has become.

The main central shopping area seems to be an array of empty and dismal shops.

There also appear to be parts which were once thriving shopping and business areas, now replaced by low-quality flats for sale or rent.

The seafront area also seems to have deteriorated, and what is that monstrosity of metal architecture on the seafront? It appears to be a caf, but it could be mistaken for the offices of a scrap dealer.

The heritage it once had also seems to have disappeared. It is no wonder there seems to be a lot of young people wandering about the town with a slightly distant look on their faces, with nowhere to go and nothing to do.

I know that the economic situation has not helped, but I do not think you could use this as a whole excuse for how dismal the town has become. What a great shame!
