Postcards success

WITHIN 48 hours of your article on the new on-line postcard collection at bexhillpostcards.org, Bexhill Old Town Preservation Society had received an offer of a second important collection of local postcards. Mr and Mrs David Wright have been collecting cards for many years now and have kindly agreed for us to scan them and place them on the new website. There are bound to be a few duplications but, at first glance, the on-line gallery is set to double in size to around 2,000 cards, most dating from before 1940. We do not apologise for any repetition, since so many of the cards have interesting messages - social history in their own right. For your readers who do not have internet access or know-how, I would urge them to find someone who can help them to view the collection. It is worth coming back for a second look, too, as we have only loaded a fraction of the cards so far (a time-consuming activity, I'm afraid).
