The day’s events included a dance display by the local K.D.F. Dance Academy and the Magog Morris Dancers, plus a demonstration and have-a-go session with The Sussex Bowmen.

There were static displays of The Little Vintage Caravan, a collection of vintage cars, a fire engine, a shepherds hut with petting lambs, and the local history society.

A live band played country music all day to lift the spirits.

There were many stalls of vintage theme along with craft demonstrations and a lovely selection of garden plants and quality books.

There were games for children, as well as hot drinks, food and cream teas that were available throughout the day.

In the afternoon there was an opportunity to view the bells and have a hands on ringing experience in the church bell tower.

The grand draw was successful and raised £1770 from Prizes donated by local people. The tombola and tipsy barrow were also very popular.

A grand total of £4,823 was raised during the day which will be added towards the much needed funds for the ongoing Church Restoration Program.

The next event in this year’s fundraising plan will be the Shipley Church car boot sale (with pitches at £7) in the Shipley Church Car Park Field, Red Lane, Shipley, and a jumble sale in the Andrew Hall, Shipley on Sunday June 29 from noon until 4pm with refreshments being available.
