Urge to merge
I totally agree with Derrick Chester (letters, January 29) that why, in times of financial stringency, have we got three councils looking after Littlehampton?
I have said for a long time that Arun and West Sussex councils should merge.
Arun has cut support to Littlehampton by a very substantial sum. Maybe this is to pay for the conversion of the Civic Centre entrance to one that looks like a plush carpet showroom recently, and the current work to a relatively modern building...
