Well done to pupils for Meeting Places

I WOULD like to draw readers’ attention to the wonderful exhibition in the foyer of Battle Memorial Hall called Meeting Places.

Pupils from Sedlescombe and Netherfield CE Primary Schools and Claverham College worked together to interview local residents and explore the archives to learn more about some of the buildings in Battle.

The exhibition includes pictures, documents and oral histories from the project.

The changes of use of some of the properties over the centuries I found fascinating such as the number of Poor Houses recorded.

The schools and pupils are to be congratulated and the Memorial Hall too for housing the exhibition.
