Need for public conveniences

Most of the articles in the press about the closure of public toilets have made a case based on the needs of children, the elderly and those with bowel disorders.

However there are many workers whose jobs are vehicle-based so they rely on public conveniences. Closure of these facilities is a retrograde step. Do we really want drivers who spend their working lives on the road to resort to urinating in the gutter?
