ROTARY ROUND-UP: Not forgetting the good times
After a lovely spring bank holiday, summer seems to be on the doorstep.
Rotary was out and about too – the West Worthing club held its car boot sale on Broadwater Green on Saturday and on Sunday all three clubs joined together to volunteer and help out at the annual Three Forts Challenge marathons, which started and ended at Rotary Field next to Hill Barn Golf Club. The marathons – full and half marathon events – raised money to support Ferring Country Centre.

Hide AdThe Three Forts Challenge has taken place each year – rain or shine – since 1977 and again proved to be a very popular run for hundreds of participants, many raising money for all sorts of charities. Rotary is always happy to help.
Later this month we expect to support Dementia Awareness Week from May 21.
In the UK, one person develops dementia every three minutes. The awareness week is organised by the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness and offers ways to support people with dementia, especially so they and their families do not feel excluded and face dementia alone.
We may not know someone who has dementia but could take small actions to make a difference when we meet someone who does or may suffer from dementia. It could be as simple as being more patient in queues or being dementia friendly.
