SAVE OUR HOSPITAL: Our school backs the hospital fight

WE are the head boy team at St Andrew's CE High School for Boys.

We have shown full support for the KWASH campaign and it remains our belief that Worthing needs a fully functioning hospital.

We do not believe that attempts at cost cutting within the NHS will have any positive effect within the Worthing and Shoreham area.

We have demonstrated our support, by signing petitions, displaying posters, and attending vigils and other various peaceful demonstrations.

By writing this letter we hope to show how strongly young people feel about maintaining full A&E, and maternity facilities in Worthing.

We are also particularly concerned about the welfare for the elderly within our community as many do not have transportation and may therefore suffer if facilities are downsized.

And for those with transport, it is a well- known fact that the roads in our area are constantly congested.

Worthing is West Sussex's biggest town with 63,000 people being treated in our A&E department, and 2,800 babies delivered by the maternity unit until last year.

With a population of 100,000 people, we need our hospital!!
