SAVE OUR HOSPITALS: This GP is against the plans

a Worthing GP, I would like to add my name to the list of opponents to the planned downgrading of Worthing Hospital.

ASI am particularly concerned about the loss of acute medical services and ITU. For acute conditions like heart attacks and strokes, every minute counts.

I wish it on nobody to be stuck in an ambulance with a potentially life threatening medical condition, particularly given the traffic situation on the roads to Brighton or Chichester (and I do not wish it for Chichester citizens, either!).

Our long coastal strip does not lend itself to a "hub and spokes" model, and as said so often previously, we are the largest town in West Sussex, with a predominantly elderly population, and hence a higher incidence of acute events needing prompt treatment.
