What about me Mr Wilderspin?

I am a single mother of two children (aged four and five), on benefits, and do not drive, so I rely heavily on public transport.

My son needed to go to hospital twice last week and this cost me 7.50 return twice, so a total of 15. I needed to go to A&E last night.

The doctor had a lot of time for my case due to the length of time I have been suffering.

All the staff bent over backwards to get to the bottom of it, but unfortunately I have to go back to hospital for another appointment. This means more money to go by bus!

Has Mr Wilderspin or anyone thought about how many buses people would have to get to go to Chichester or Brighton and how much it would cost?

Well, I have.

It would cost 6.60 for an adult return (day rider gold which only takes you to Chichester bus station) and 5.30 for a child return.

For me, this journey, without any other fares and buses from Chichester bus station, would cost 11.90 and in July, 2008, will go up to 17.20.

This is, of course, without any fare increases made by Stagecoach.

I would need to get the Pulse and then get the 700 with an estimated journey time of 38 minutes.

To go to Brighton the cost would be the same as to go to Chichester.

I would need two buses but the journey time increases to an estimate of one hour 10 minutes.

This is yet again without any other fares or buses in Brighton.

Of course, there is a great chance that the connection is missed and most bus routes only run every 30 minutes, which increases the journey time, without any traffic jams, road accidents and road closures.

Against all this, it takes me 20 minutes to get to Worthing A&E.

I would love to know what Mr Wilderspin makes of this information.

Has any of this been considered? I don't think so.
