Pagham gears up for sweetcorn fest

Bob Cob is getting ready to meet his fans again when the UK's biggest sweetcorn festival opens in Pagham.

The sweetcorn figurehead will be the star of the latest CornFest held by Barfoots of Botley.

The company is once more opening Sefter Farm in Pagham Road to the public in aid of the community. Visitors will have the chance to try some of the tastiest sweetcorn from the best of the British crop.

Sefter Farm forms a large part of Barfoot's 4,000 acres of semi-exotic vegetable production across the south coast.

CornFest will take place from 10am on September 6. It promises to be a great day out for the whole family. Tractor and trailer farm rides, a food village, farmers' market, arts and crafts area, live music, pony rides and activities for children promise plenty of entertainment.

Visitors to the event pay a 5 charity donation to park their cars. Profits from the event will go to charities chosen by Barfoots.

Further details from 01243 268811.

A zeppelin balloon flying from Sefter Farm will provide an easy guide to reach the farm.
