Painting exhibition boosts charity cash

Middleton Art Group held their Spring Exhibition at St Nicholas Hall in Mill Road, Arundel, on the weekend of April 21 and 22.

This was their first exhibition of the year.

A wide variety of original paintings featuring local scenes, landscapes, still life, animals and flowers were on display and for sale, as well as a selection of unframed and framed prints.

Middleton Art Group are a small group of local artists who enjoy working in watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel and pen and ink.

Chairman Carole Keen said: "It was a most successful and enjoyable weekend, and we would like to sincerely thank all the visitors who came to view our work.

"We were delighted with their kind donations to St Wilfrid's Hospice which totalled 97.95."

Middleton Art Group meet weekly at Jubilee Hall in Elmer Road, Middleton-on-Sea.

At present there is a waiting list for prospective new members, due to restricted membership.

The two remaining exhibitions this year are the summer exhibition on the weekend of June 23 and 24, and the three-day Festival Exhibition from Saturday, August 25, to Monday 27th, held at the same venue '“ St Nicholas Hall.

Open times are from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free but donations to St Wilfrid's Hospice, Chichester, would be appreciated. All visitors warmly welcomed.
