Pancake races set to take over Horsham town centre

Despite gloomy weather today’s pancake races in Horsham town centre are expected to go ahead.

Organised by Horsham Rotary in partnership with Horsham District Council the annual fixture is set to start at noon in the Carfax with businesses and charities fighting to be crowned the winner.

The main races will take place from 12-1.45pm with the children’s pancake races sponsored by Sugar & Snow from 1.45-2.30pm.

The ‘Wear your Worst Woolly’ competition, organised by Age UK Horsham District, will start at 3pm, while a children’s activity marquee will be open from 10am-3pm.

In the main races as well as prizes for the winner, there are also several other categories including Best Team Fancy Dress, Best Flipper, Best Over 40’s, and Winning Charity Team.

Once again TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips will be the race commentator.
