Paramedics attend fire at East Preston home

A WOMAN was treated for mild smoke inhalation on last night (April 15), after a fire at her East Preston home.

Fire crews were called to Worthing Road at around 10.30pm, after a fire involving an extractor fan started in the ground floor kitchen of a house.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was treated by paramedics, but was not taken to hospital.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the kitchen had been 25 per cent fire damaged, and five per cent heat and smoke damaged.

Two crews from East Preston spent one-and-a-half hours fighting the

flames, and used hose reels, breathing apparatus, and a positive ventilation fan to clear the smoke.
