Parking in Midhurst’s Ashfield Road comes under discussion

THE future of a proposed Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in Midhurst will considered by members of North Chichester County Local Committee (CLC) tonight (Tuesday (October 8)

The committee will meet at 7pm in Lurgashall Village Hall in Mill Lane.

Following the formal consultation, the committee will decide whether to continue with the TRO proposals for Ashfield Road, with on-street parking cited as an issue.

Local authorities can implement TROs, which are designed to regulate, restrict or prohibit the use of a road or any part of a road by traffic or pedestrians.

Committee chairman Michael Brown said: “Parking and congestion problems have been raised as issues for Ashfield Road for some time.

“We will consider the proposals made by the Traffic Regulation Order and decide upon the best course of action, taking into account the comments and feedback received during the consultation period.”

The latest applications received for Community Initiative Funding (CIF) will also be on
the agenda.

Michael added: “We have received a number of applications for CIF grants ahead of our October meeting and we look forward to finding out more about
their work.

“It is always pleasing to be able to support local projects and I would urge other groups who could benefit to come forward and apply.”

Residents will also have an opportunity to raise any issues or concerns they have under the regular ‘talk with us’ open forum.
