TABLE TOP SALE: The Table Top Sale at Peasmarsh Memorial hall this Sunday September 21 will run from 8am - 1pm and not the times as stated last week. Please ring Trevor Scott on 230568 for more information or to book a table.

OVER 50’S EXERCISE CLASS : The over 50’s Exercise class is looking for new members! The class takes place at the hall on a Tuesday afternoon, 2-3pm. Please go along and give it a try!

LUNCH CLUB: After a year of enjoying the Monday Lunch Club, with the excellent meals supplied by students from Hastings, the Hall Committee was really sad to learn that the college will not be offering this course this year, due to low numbers. There will be no lunch club on September 22 as previously published, but the committee will be doing everything it can to re-start this successful project as soon as possible. They definitely hope to arrange one lunch during half-term, and Steve has promised to come and give us a Christmas Lunch as he did last year. If you would be willing to join a group working to provide a new regular lunch (prepare, cook, serve, clear), please contact David or Hilary Pankhurst, Sally Page, Jenny Als or Audrey Dent.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING: There will be a Macmillan Coffee Morning at the hall on Friday September 26, 10am - 1pm, please support this worthwhile event.

OLIVER CURD TRUST : The third Oliver Curd Trust charity pamper night is on September 26 at 6.30pm at the hall. This year it is in aid of B.A.C.E & The Bone Cancer Research Trust; tickets are still £3 which includes a glass of wine & nibbles.

ROCTOBER: Tickets are now on sale for the Oliver Curd Trust’s Roctober event, which will take place on Saturday October 4 at the Milligans Theatre, Rye College. There will be live music from The Rockitmen and guests, tickets cost £10 and are available from Grammar School Records, High Street, Rye and the Tourist Information Centre, Lion Street, Rye. The event runs from 8.30pm until late.

SATELLITE SURGERY: So far there is still no further news on the appeal to NHS England to change their minds over their withdrawal of approval for our Satellite Surgery. we understand that the panel has not yet met.

BINGO : Bingo has arrived at the hall, and with Trevor Scott back as “caller”, for some it was like old times on Monday afternoon! For a first time out, it was well attended, and the organisers hope once it becomes a regular event there will be more taking part.The next session has been arranged for Monday, September 29 .

FILM NIGHT: Tickets for Philomena on Saturday, October 11 at the Memorial hall are now available from Hilary Pankhurst (230205) or Jenny Als (230324). To make sure this venture is financially viable the committee needs to sell tickets in advance. If the show is cancelled for lack of interest, the ticket price £5.00 (which includes a glass of wine) will be refunded.

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP EVENTS: The Patient Participation Group of the Ferry Road Health Centre are holding a coffee morning on Friday September 26,10am-noon, in the Surgery in aid of the Macmillan Nurses.

We are also running a joint event with Rye Medical Centre at Rye Primary School on Wednesday, October 1, 6pm for 6.30pm when Liz Butt will be telling us about ‘Music for Wellbeing ... how music can support you through many different health problems’. All are welcome and refreshments will be provided. Parking round the back of the school off Love Lane.

CHURCH SERVICES: The 10am service this Sunday will be at Peasmarsh church; the 8am service will be at Beckley as usual.
