MP Caroline Ansell used the recent summer parliamentary recess to visit countywide charity East Sussex Hearing at its Eastbourne centre. During her visit the MP had a chance to see the work the charity does to help the deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing.

Warren Burchmore, aged 20, is now qualified to fly a plane solo. He had attended the Eastbourne Air cadets 54 Squadron, reaching the rank of Flight Sergeant, and was the only person in Sussex to represent the cadets in an intensive flying training scholarship. He did a pilot scheme and passed his test at Tayside Aviation in Dundee.

Fundraising by the Soroptimists of Eastbourne and former president Julie Healey Hill had, like a lot of things, to stop due to the Covid pandemic. But once the worst was over, the Soroptimists were able to hand over their cheque for £1,097.65 to the Friends of the DGH. SUS-210110-101520001

Members of Memory Lane Eastbourne have planted roses at their community allotment at Tutts Barn Lane, in memory of loved ones who had passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic. Memory Lane is a registered charity which provides activities for people with dementia and their carers to enjoy together.
