Last week, firefighters from Chichester Green Watch unveiled the latest drawings which have been sent in to them following their appeal last month.

Firefighter Mark McCarthy said: “We have been really amazed with the fantastic drawings we have received so far, and we have had all sorts.

“Everything from doctors, to delivery drivers, supermarket workers to social workers.

“But there are definitely still some unsung heroes out there who should be represented here.

“We would like to encourage all children to think about the people who are working really hard at the moment to help keep us all safe, and to put pen to paper and send us a drawing of them.”

They have received enough to almost fill all three of the station’s bay doors, but there is still room for more.

Once the bay doors are filled, the crew will pick their favourite and the lucky winner will be invited to the station to find out more about the work the fire and rescue service does once social distancing has been relaxed.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue also has a new online learning zone with activities aimed at children in key stages one and two, to help families with educating children from home during the lockdown.
