Wendy Fox, Lisa Rokebrand and Nicola Roots from AlphaPet will take part in the challenge on March 15 where they will abseil 180ft down the castle’s Bakehouse Tower.

Lisa Rokebrand from AlphaPet, who will be taking part in the challenge, said: “Every year at AlphaPet we dedicate some of our time and resources to raise funds for worthy charities.

“This year one of the charities we have chosen to raise funds for is the NSPCC. We believe that every child deserves protecting and no child should feel helpless or vulnerable.

“As part of this initiative AlphaPet will match donations made to members of our team up to £125 each making every public donation that much more valuable.”

The money raised will go towards the charity’s vital services such as the Speak Out Stay Safe service.

The service is available to all primary schools in the UK.

It aims to equip a generation of children with the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or a service such as Childline.

There is still time to sign up to take part in the NSPCC’s Arundel Castle Abseil.

Registration costs £25 and the children’s charity asks those taking part to raise a minimum of £250.

Kate Hershkowitz, NSPCC community fundraising manager for the south east, said: “We are so pleased to have a team from AlphaPet taking part in our abseil at Arundel Castle this March, and very grateful to AlphaPet for kindly donating up to £125 per team member in support of their efforts.

“This special abseil in aid of the NSPCC marks 60 years of fundraising in Sussex by our local volunteers, so if you have ever wanted to see views of the Sussex Downs from the top of Arundel Castle’s 180ft Bakehouse tower, we would love you to join us.”
