Eastbourne McDonald’s is reopening for walk-in takeaway – here’s when and what’s on the menu

The fast food restaurant in Terminus Road is among the 280 more chains reopening from 11am following the coronavirus lockdown.

It be open from 11am to 10pm each day.

McDonald’s says it is taking extra steps to keep customers and staff safe, like opening for reduced hours and serving a reduced menu.

A limited number of people will be allowed inside at any one time to help adhere to social distancing rules.

Customers will be welcomed inside when a space becomes available and will be asked to sanitise their hands at cleaning stations that have been introduced in all restaurants.

There will be fewer self-order screens switched on and those in use will be sanitised at least every 30 minutes. Customers can also order via the My McDonald’s app.

Staff will be washing their hands at least every 30 minutes, McDonald’s says, and cleaning equipment and services more often.

There will be floor markings inside and outside the restaurant to enable customers to queue safely and teams will wear protective equipment.

Restaurant seating areas, customer toilets and lifts will remain closed.

It comes after the drive-thru restaurant in Lottbridge Drove reopened last week.

Other McDonald’s restaurants reopening in this way in East Sussex today are Brighton’s Churchill Square, Western Road, and London Road, and Wellington Place in Hastings.
