Wedding dress maker Ceris Davies, 35, said she had switched to crafting scrubs during the coronavirus in a bid to help out frontline staff.

She added: “I thought I’ve got a sewing machine, I can do it quite quickly so I should get involved.”

Ceris said scrubs are easier to make than wedding dresses, but she has to complete them much quicker.

She has so far made 15 sets but Ceris said across Horsham and Billingshurst hundreds have been made.

Some have already been donated to Riverside Surgery in Horsham.

Practice nurse Stephanie Jenkinson said: “You can’t believe how many people are coming together in the community to help out everyone.”

Ceris is urging any medical professionals in need of scrubs to contact her on 07874 011693.

She said: “Anyone who is in the medical profession who is in need should get in touch. There are people here that are able to help.

“Get in touch and we will help as much as we can.”

She called for care homes, GP practices and hospices to get in touch.
