Person hit by a train between Chichester and Havant

Emergency services have responded to reports of a person being hit by a train between Chichester and Havant this afternoon (Wednesday, April 7).

According to Southern Rail, all lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with the incident.

"It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Chichester and Havant," a spokesperson said.

"Lines are shut between Havant and Chichester. We've requested rail replacement buses to run, calling at all stations in both directions. Tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach 700 bus services in the local area

"Please check before you travel and allow extra time.

"Journeys to/from Portsmouth, Southampton and other west coastway destinations will be affected today."
