On Saturday September 1 local artists from Fairlight Art Club will be exhibiting a variety of work, realistically priced, to sell in the new Boathouse at Pett Level. The exhibition will run from 9:30am to 4:30pm and will raise funds for Pett Level Rescue.

Michaelmas Extravaganza! Pett Church is planning a fund-raising craft fair and scarecrow festival in aid of the church. It will take place on Saturday September 29 in the church from 10am until 4pm. There will be teas and snacks and stalls in the churchyard including bric-a-brac, cakes, produce and tombola.

If you have a craft, which you would like to display (or know someone who would), please get in touch with Angela Hawksley or Gill Plank, details in Pett Parish News.

There will be a variety of competitions and your chance of an extravaganza will be to enter the scarecrow competition. Either construct one or come dressed as one! Remember that old saying often heard on a hot harvest night outside the local:

See one scarecrow, there will be snow

See two or more, the sun will show
