Residents, relatives and staff at Rotherlea Care Home in Petworth marked World Alzheimer’s Day with a release of balloons into the sunshine.
Everyone at the Shaw Healthcare home was invited to buy a balloon, which had a dove-shaped card attached on which to write a message.
The event raised £230 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Ingrid Worthington, from Shaw Healthcare, said Rotherlea was proud to be involved in highlighting and helping the growing number of older people living with dementia.
“Every year on September 21, Alzheimer associations across the globe unite to recognise World Alzheimer’s Day with events taking place internationally,” she said.
“With large numbers of people involved and media coverage, these events can make a real difference for people with dementia, their families and carers worldwide.”
