Staff and pupils from Petworth Primary School, along with residents from the town attended the service which takes place every year at the Horsham Road Cemetery Memorial, to remember all those who died when a German bomb exploded at Petworth Boys School on September 29, 1942.
They remember the 28 boys who were killed along with headmaster Charles Stevenson and assistant teacher Charlotte Marshall.
This year the wreath was laid by primary school pupils George Homewood and Annabel Strange.
