PUPILS at Petworth Primary School got a taste of life in the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment (PWRR) when soldiers dropped in to share some of their experiences.
The soldiers met children during their assembly and talked of their life in the regiment, showing them their kit and even letting them try their backpacks on for size.
The regiment will be back in town on Sunday, December 4, to help residents get into an early festive mood with a special fundraising Christmas Concert.
Being held at The Leconfield Hall, it is in aid of the PWRR Regimental Fund which raises money to relieve hardship or distress of former and serving members of the regiment.
Doors open at 6pm and the event is by ticket only and costing £5 per person.
They are available from regimental ambassador Lynn Smith-White on 01798 342004.
The evening features performances by local groups, refreshments and a raffle.
