Mrs Rogers moved into the home two years ago. A very independent woman, she moved to Middleton in 1978 following the death of her husband and managed her house there until she was 96.

She worked for most of her life and retired from the NHS shortly before her move to Middleton. However, she was rarely a patient of the health service and enjoyed good health well into her nineties.
