FROM learning to play Quidditch to science experiments it was a week with a difference for Northchapel Primary School children before they broke up for half term.
“This year our theme was the world of wizards and magic, using stories from Harry Potter, Winnie the Witch and other magical adventures,” said headteacher Helen Coleman.
“The children dressed up in wonderful costumes and we had a visit by young people from Midhurst Rother College who shared a science workshop, amazing the children with astounding displays of coloured flames, impossible balloon stunts and explosive rockets.
“It was Books for Breakfast on Shrove Tuesday, with children sharing pancakes served by parents and reading stories together.”
Two University of Surrey Harry Potter Society students taught the art of playing Quidditch and pupils made their own wands and cooked magical pancakes with very unusual looking ingredients.
Sleepy Storytime saw them coming back in the evening in their pyjamas to share a story with teachers and have a hot chocolate.
