THERE was a Christmas buzz on the streets of Midhurst as crowds arrived for the annual party.
It was the start of the festive fun in Midhurst which continued with the arrival of two reindeer in town and a Christmas concert which filled the main hall at Midhurst Rother College.
Traders were open for late night shoppers, there was a wealth of entertainment in the Market Square and a special treat for youngsters at Santa’s Grotto organised by Martyn Chevis in his West Street salon.
It was Midhurst Town Council’s annual party and chairman John Etherington said: “There seemed to be a big crowd out and about. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we would like to thank all those who supported the party, traders who stayed open and provided extra festive treats and the residents who as usual made allowances for us during the evening.
The Market Square also played host to ‘Cracker’ and ‘Tinsel’ two reindeer who charmed Christmas shoppers.
A festive weekend ended with an evening of Christmas music by The Milestone Collective Swing Band (TMC) presented by The Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth at Midhurst Rother College.
Organiser trombonist Ali Gibson had collected 19 musicians and singers together, many who are still at music college.
