CANINE countryside capers attracted thousands of visitors to Petworth at the weekend.
More than 1,000 dogs and owners visited Petworth Park to join in with the National Trust event, Spot the Spaniel.
Now in its third year, the day was a huge success, with doggy-related stalls, a hamper raffle, face painting and a craft tent.
Events manager at Petworth House, Ian Pearce, said: “It is lovely to see the event grow in popularity every year and welcome so many enthusiastic dogs and dog-lovers to the park.
“We were particularly spoilt this year as the weather was so glorious.
“It allowed people to explore the park and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.”
The dog show featured classes including smartest spaniel, best junior handler and ‘musical sit’.
More than 150 people also took part in the sponsored 5k walk, run or jog for Canine Partners.
